Our Mission

The mission of Norristown Academy Charter School is to provide an enriching school environment, in which all children can achieve their fullest potential and develop their talents. Students will be active participants in an educational environment characterized by high expectations for their academic achievement, and demonstrated proficiency of the Pennsylvania Academic Standards. Students will be members of a diverse student body, including English Language Learners (ELL) and students with disabilities, in a program that challenges them to excel as active learners, independent thinkers, respectful individuals, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners.

We give young scholars the tools to become innovators and develop academic, social, and emotional skills to prepare them for nothing but success.

The mission is aligned with the principles set forth in the Pennsylvania Charter School Law, which entrusts charter schools with:

  • Improving pupil learning

  • Increasing learning opportunities for all pupils

  • Encouraging the use of different and innovative teaching methods

  • Creating new professional opportunities for teachers, including the opportunity to be responsible for the learning program at the school site

  • Providing parents and pupils with expanded choice in the types of educational opportunities that are available within the public school system

  • Being accountable for meeting measurable academic standards via effective accountability systems
